La Maison des Deux Clochers
La Maison des Deux Clochers is located in the heart of the peaceful winemaking village of Magny-les-Villers. The house has two bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed and one with twin beds. There is also a fully equipped kitchen, a living room, a wonderful bathroom with a tub and shower, a covered veranda, and a private garden area outside for the exclusive use of our guests. The house is completely private and independent (i.e. we do not live onsite). It dates back to 1789, but has been lovingly restored, furnished, and equipped down to an extensive book and video library, Wi Fi internet, antiques, and three bulging binders of local tips, recommendations, and 'insider information' about the region. Fresh bed linens and towels are supplied. The house can comfortably accomodate 4 people and has a comfortable pull out sofabed for those unexpected guests! We negotiate lower prices for longer-term stays. La Maison des Deux Clochers is nestled in the rolling hills and vineyards of the Hautes-Cotes and the village of Magny-les-Villers is relaxed and peaceful. However, its location is very convenient: the lovely medieval town of Beaune is only ten minutes away, as is the town of Nuits-Saint-Georges, and Dijon is a mere half an hour North.
Picturesque and famous winemaking village such as Pommard, Volnay, Gevrey-Chambertin, and Aloxe Corton are all on your doorstep, just waiting to be explored!
Burgundy itself is very central. The house is approximately 600 kilometres from Calais, or a five and a half hour drive. Many of our guests make day trips to Paris using the TGV which leaves from both Beaune and Dijon and reached the Gare de Lyon in Paris in less than two hours. Geneva is only two hours East, Italy and Spain a day's drive, and Provence and the Cote d'Azur only three to four hours South. Burgundy is a great base for exploring France and Europe.
