La Cime Des Arbres (Treetops)
La Cime Des Arbres (Treetops) is a luxury country home overlooking the farms, forests and valleys of Dordogne's Green Perigord. A newly-completed restoration (2006) of a 16th century ruin -- requiring three years and over 50 artisans working under the direction of Belgian architect Eric Bogers -- Treetops has oak floors and Italian tiles, oriental carpets, a designer kitchen, exposed beams, a beautiful, traditional oak terrace overlooking a heated pool (30 C in June) and fenced-in garden, two fireplaces, four bedrooms ensuite (two masters and two children’s), dining room, living room, tv/playroom, a library, pingpong, foosball, Cable, DVD, stereo, trampoline, and Broadband Internet. Swimming pool has a the latest radar-equipped alarm system, and filtered water.Treetops's design plays on the southeast and southwest orientation providing lovely light from dawn to dusk, with most of the activity taking place on the second floor (thus the name). The intention of the owners, a former foreign correspondent and French Avocat, was to create the feeling of an elegant boutique hotel. Treetops is perfect for a family or two couples and lies in a quiet hillside hamlet surrounded by forests and farms. There is a three-km bike or walking path along the ridge above and around the hamlet and tennis, horseback riding, golf, fishing and canoeing and mini-golf are all near-by. Weekly Maid service is provided and a local chef and babysitter are available on request. Write for more information and photos. (Due to the popular demand of our guests in 2006, we will again offer to exclusively arrange a visit and dinner or lunch prepared by one of Dordogne's most famous chefs.
