The property is located on the corner of a small junction, almost under the walls of 10th century church (eglise).

It has two double bedrooms (one with TV), each with en-suite toilet, sink and shower.

All bed linen and towels are supplied.

There is a spacious loft room with a comfortable convertible sofa-bed but this is NOT suitable for children under 15 years of age, due to access via steep steps.

The comfortable lounge area has a DVD player, music center and HD ready TV with free satellite viewing (BBC and ITV are available, along with French programs). A large open fireplace adds atmosphere.

There is no telephone line (good mobile phone reception) and access to the internet is possible via WIFI, but is sporadic.

There is a secure garage suitable for a mid-sized car (eg: Citroen Picasso ), with a washing machine and w/c.

Location
Flights to Perpignan from Southampton and other regional UK airports, also from Paris.
Good international (schedule & charter) flights to Toulouse from London Gatwick.
Toulouse (Blagnac) has a good choice of car hire firms available. Perpignan is a two hour drive; other options are Montpellier, Barcelona (also two hours distance) and Gerona ((One hour)
THUIR is 12km inland from Perpignan.
Thuir is situated just 15 - 20 minutes from Perpignan in the Languedoc Roussillon or Cathar region of France.
The village has a typically Catalan atmosphere with a lively market every Saturday morning.
Thuir is the home of Cusenier , which has the largest oak vat in Europe and tours of the facility are available. There are numerous vineyards (vignerons) in the village and close by. Most of the local caves offer tastings.
To the north is Tuchan with wonderful wines, castle ruins and rugged scenery. En route, near Tautavel is the European Centre of Pre-civilisation; Europe’s oldest pre-historic site.
The Mediterranean beaches (30mins), the mountains (Pyrenees) with wonderful walks and breathtaking scenery and Spain are all within easy reach (approximately 45 minutes by car). Toulouse, Montpellier, Barcelona and Andorra are all within two hours drive. Gerona (Spain) is under an hour away and well worth a visit.
Local activities include swimming, (inland at Lac de-la-Raho and Vinca or the pool in the village), tennis, walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding, golf, mountain biking, roller blading.
Ceret, Prades and Illes-sur-Tet are a convenient distance (30mins) and the 'must see' village of Castelnou (10mins).
The best beaches are at Canet-Plage (30mins) with St-Cyprien and Argeles further south.
Golf is available at Canet, Carcassonne and Gerona.
Carcassonne and it’s magical castle is situated an hours drive north.
15 mins away is Auchan, which hosts a huge supermarket, shops, restaurants and other services.
A car is essential if you are to fully enjoy the area
