The "Le Mas de l'Amant" is in the Gard, one of the southern provinces of the Languedoc Roussillon. Located on the edge of a small village of 200 people, an agricultural and vineyard community, you will arrive at "Mas de l'Amant" along a driveway bordered with olive-trees and cypress. This 18th century stone house is situated in the middle of 7 hectares of land where the silence is disturbed only by the cicadas. The house is usually occupied by the owners, but they rent it when they are on holiday. It is consequently very comfortable and elegantly furnished. Downstairs - Entrance hall

Exterior: On the south side of the house, there is parking for 3 cars. The lawns around the house are watered 2 times day to maintain freshness near the house. Outside on the west side of the house, offers views of the Cévennes mountains. Here you will find an enclosed aromatic garden and patio connecting with the kitchen. This is the ideal place to enjoy a particularly pleasant lunch under the winter sun or in summer to watch the sun set before the dinner. Outside on the east side of the house, with a view on the "Mont Bouquet", teak made furniture (table, chairs, lounge chairs) and external speakers are available on a large shady terrace. A gas barbecue will help you to prepare some summer meals. A second table is dressed for children on a loggia on the first floor connected with the terrace by an old stone staircase. In the garden about 50 meters of the house, is a newly build tennis court is for the private use of the guests. You will be able to enjoy the sun, with 8 lounge chairs, near a large heated salt water swimming pool (16 m x 6 m x 1,2-2 m), to take a fresh or hot shower before resting in shade of the pines situated between the pool and tennis court. Your children will be able to play and to construct huts in private thicket near the tennis court. Outside on the north side of the house, a French looking kitchen garden will be at your disposal to gather vegetables gorged with sun, an orchard with many varieties of fruit trees, a hedge of vines, a bowls play ground (bowls supplied), a climbing frame for children and a large (4 m x 4 m) sandbox. - The owner provides a full management document for all guests to enable them to find their way about quickly and to work all machines without difficulty. There is also a file for guests in the living room with abundant information about the area, sights and places of interest.
LocationIn the house there is a file packed full of ideas for interesting places to go and things to do, but for example: - 12 km: Alès Daily covered food market. Entry point of the beautiful Cévennes, made famous by Robert Louis Stevenson.
- 25 km: The mediaeval town of Uzès with plenty of shops, restaurants and an amazing Saturday market.
- 40 km: Pont du Gard.
- 45 km: The Roman city of Nîmes with its famous arena.
- 65 km: The historical city of Avignon 'Cité des Papes' with its very famous "Festival d’Avignon" each year in July.
- 100 km: The Mediterranean coast, the Camargue with its enchanting wildlife.
- The Rhone Valley wines with their famous appellations of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Tavel, Lirac are all within easy reach.
