St Gildas Des Bois is only 3 minutes away where there are banks, post Office, butchers, bakers, restaurants and bars. There is also a large super market in St Gildas Des Bois and you will find Leclerc, Lidl and Intermarche supermarkets in Redon which is 20 mins away and Pontchateau only 10 minutes away. Redon is where the Nantes-Brest canal meets the Vilaine. Explore the many shops, weekly open air market and indoor/outdoor swimming pool as well as the many restaurants and bars.

The nearest beach can be found at Penistan 20 minutes, away and La Baule, Le Pouliguen and Pornichet (beach and marina) all within 40 minutes. There are also quite a few more beaches all within 30 - 60 minutes.

Rennes and Nantes both only 1 hour by car with Medieval origins and Chateau both well worth a visit. There are plenty of scenic walking and cycling on the doorstep and great fishing in the local lakes and rivers. There is an international golf course at the Chateau de la Bretesche in Misslliac and in the Parc Naturel Regional de Briere you will find thatched cottages and a vast array of local and migratory birds, you can take a guided tour on one of the traditional barges or go rambling, cycling, canoeing or kayaking all only 10 - 25 minutes away.

Visit the many medieval villages such as Vannes, La Roche-Bernard, Malestriot, Rochefort un terre and the walled town of Guerande or take a boat trip around the Golfe de Morbihan with it's many islands coves and beaches.
