Our house is located in a small village on the borders of the Charente and the Dordogne in SW France.
 
The house can currently sleep up to 6 people and comprises a living, dining and kitchen area on the ground floor; two bedrooms and two bathrooms on the first floor.  The village has a little shop and restaurant and is very peaceful and relaxing. There are also lots of things to do in the surrounding areas, including golf, wine tasting, and the local town of Cognac.

The weather is generally 3-4 degrees hotter than the UK.

The village of Salles Lavalette is located in the Charente region, close to its border with the Dordogne. The village sits within peaceful and beautiful countryside although is close to major attractions, road network and airports. Within the village itself there is a small shop, restaurant and post office and church. The locals are very proud of their village with a 3 star rating for 'villages in bloom' and aims for 4 stars in 2006!

In the immediate surroundings there are numerous activities to enjoy including walking tracks around the village and surroundings. We have a couple of bicycles that you can use if your feeling a little more active. Within a short drive there are a range of activities, including canoeing, rowing, tennis, golf, vineyards, pate or cognac museums
