Les Rossignols is a tranquil haven situated in beautiful surroundings near the historic hilltop villages of Gordes, Roussillon, Bonnieux, Lacoste and Menerbes in the very heart of Provence. The famous medieval city of Avignon is only 50 km away.
Charming design and lovely far-reaching views across the valley characterise these two fully-equipped apartments built in an artist's home. Both have their own sitting areas near the house and more secluded areas in the cool and shady grounds. As the apartments are alongside each other they are also perfect as one unit (together totalling approx.120 sqm with 3 bath/showerrooms).
An attraction of Les Rossignols is its natural park covering 5 hectares, with a path around the grounds ideal for a nice leisurely walk. A real rarity is the 35 metre square swimming pond which after many years of planting and care has developed into a little oasis - something special for people who enjoy swimming in an natural enviroment. Even without adding any chemical products, the water is always crystal clear. There is easy access to the water via a stone stairs or a wooden diving pier. Or you can simply relax by the water under the covered pergola on our comfortable loungers. We also have a big outdoor table for our guests to meet for an aperitif or invite their own guests. From here you can admire the spectacular sunsets over the ancient village of Gordes.
The area offers a great variety of excursions: "Le Parc Naturel du Luberon" and its picturesque villages, the impressive Palais des Papes in Avignon, the famous antique market in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, where you can pick up a few bargains, the unique nature reserve of the Camargue, and Aix-en-Provence with its beautiful buildings, wonderfully restored Roman baths and fine shopping area. The nearby hilltop village of Roussillon is characterised by the wonderful variety of deep ochre colours used in it’s construction. Elsewhere in the region, major international cultural events take place, including the Avignon Theatre Festival, the Opera Festivals in Aix-en-Provence and Orange, and the Piano Festival in Roque d'Antheron. Golf, riding, climbing, hiking, or even flying in a hot air balloon are all accessible within 20 minutes.
Luxurious Spa at Les Rossignols
As an annexe to the main house we have build a separate bath house. A real little jewel for relaxation in the heart of Provence.
Our Spa offers a Hammam (steam bath), a cascade like shower, a cold water basin, a Jacuzzi, relaxation areas and total privacy! You can book our Spa per hour for a very resonable price.
The two self-contained apartments available are:
1) The Apartment (approx. 60 m2) (2- 4 persons)
One bedroom, a living/dining room with open-plan kitchen, a conservatory, two shower-rooms.
The living/dining room has a fully equipped open-plan kitchen (incl. dishwasher) and a separate shower-room. It has a TV, VCR, DVD and a specially designed sofa, that can be converted into a single or twin beds. The bedroom has twin beds and an ensuite shower-room. Access to the apartment is via a large conservatory. On cooler days the conservatory offers a comfortable seating and dining area as it can be heated with a wood-burning stove, but in summer the large glass doors can be opened completely, and with it's sunshade it becomes a covered terrace leading to the furnished outdoor seating area. All rooms have Italian stone tiles.
2) The Suite (approx. 60 m2) (2- 3 persons)
One main room, a kitchen, a conservatory, an open bathroom and a separate toilet.
The bed-sittingroom is very large with a beautiful wooden floor, kingsize bed (1,50m), dining area with large round dining table, and sitting area with an antique wooden sofabed, armchair, TV and VCR/DVD. The open bathroom (with a separate toilet) is an attraction in itself with its antique bath tub and mural. Access to the suite is via a smaller conservatory which can also be used as a dining area. It leads out to furnished seating areas in the shade of trees or under an awning in front of the suite. The separate kitchen is also fully equiped but without a dishwasher.
Both units have private terraces overlooking the valley.
